Product Recommendations
Show related products to increase average order value.
Product recommendations display related products to customers, encouraging them to discover and buy more.
Enabling recommendations
Go to Storefront Settings → Recommendations tab:
- Toggle Enable recommendations on
- Choose display locations:
- Product page — show below product details
- Cart page — show suggested add-ons
- Set Maximum items to show (1-12, default 4)
- Customize section titles for English and Russian
Category rules
Define which products to recommend based on the product's category:
- Source category — when a customer views a product from this category...
- Target categories — recommend products from these categories
For example: when viewing Shoes, recommend products from Socks and Shoe Care.
Category rules are used as a fallback when there isn't enough purchase history data. As your store grows, recommendations will also factor in what other customers bought together.
Adding rules
- Click Add Rule
- Select the source category
- Select one or more target categories
- Save
How it works
The recommendation engine uses a combination of:
- Category rules you've defined
- Co-purchase data — products frequently bought together
- Same-category products — fallback to products in the same category
Results are deduplicated and limited to the maximum items you've configured.
